The Stone Mill in spring at the New York Botanical Garden. The Stone Mill was built in 1840, right on the edge of the Bronx River (NYC's only freshwater river), which itself is backdropped by an old growth native forest. The garden says the mill is one of New York City’s most “historical and significant pre-Civil War industrial structures.
